SAINT MARK'S PRO-CATHEDRAL
Hastings, Nebraska

Journey of Faith

In past years, adults and young people sixteen years or older have been prepared for Baptism, Confirmation, Reception or Reaffirmation through a series of talks presented over several weeks. This year, we enjoyed a new format with the same topics covered during a mini-retreat on Saturday, April 16 at Saint Mark's Deanery. The subjects covered included:

"The Journey Thus Far"
The Birth of the Christian Church and a brief overview of the Reformation, Anglicanism, and the Episcopal Church in the United States

"Making Connections"
The Sacraments of the Church and the Book of Common Prayer

"The Genius of Anglicanism"
Anglican Theology, Doctrine, Faith, and Order.
Includes discussion of the structure of the Episcopal Church at the national and Diocesan level.

"The Cathedral and the World"
The philosophy and ministry of Saint Mark's Pro-Cathedral.
Included in this discussion are the presentation of the contemporary social, moral, and ethical issues that the Episcopal Church and Saint Mark's are addressing and will continue to address.
